Description
I created Thriving Families Counselling to provide a place in which parents could receive new understanding of their child or teen, explore how their own life experiences have influenced their approach to parenting and for families together to learn new ways to create healthy communication and functioning. In addition to working with parents, I also have a passion for supporting women who are experiencing the emotional impact of pregnancy, PPMD, PDD and perimenopause/menopause. I believe that for counselling to be successful a warm, trusting, and genuine therapeutic relationship is essential.

Summary
Social relationships, school difficulties and mental health impact children and teens which can lead to behaviours that are difficult for parents to understand and respond to. At the same time, today's parents are dealing with their own life stressors including parenting, work, relationships, supporting aging relatives and their own mental health concerns that can further impact positive family functioning. Whether in our office in Kitchener or virtually across Ontario, we help you better understand your emotions, manage stress, improve relationships, navigate grief, and cope with life.
