Description
As a Somali-Canadian therapist, I possess a wealth of knowledge navigating two identities and understanding trauma. I work with individuals and couples who are struggling with communication, understanding cultural impacts on identity, and breaking cycles. I am passionate about working with couples and am known to be a very direct therapist who is not afraid of big feelings (e.g., anger, shame). I provide guidance on identifying gaps in communication and shifting to a supportive lens without blame. I will work diligently with you to build a foundation of connection within your relationship.

Moallim Wellness
Summary
Moallim Wellness offers in-person and/or virtual sessions to residents of Edmonton. Virtual services are offered to any other locations in Alberta, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. Areas of support include childhood sexual abuse, other sexual trauma, grief events (e.g., deaths, pregnancy loss, migration), relationship difficulties, pre-marital/cohabitation therapy, etc. I recognize the importance of finding a therapist who "gets it" and have professional and personal experiences with grief and trauma as a first-generation Canadian.
