She was trained in both short-term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy for a diverse range of adult individuals. She has worked for the Nepean Rideau and Osgoode Community Resource Centre, in Ottawa, where she gained valuable experience working with clients of various ages, sexes, income levels, sexual orientations, races, cultures, religions, spiritualities, and presenting problems. Finally, she was trained in different psychotherapeutic modalities including humanistic psychotherapies and cognitive behavioral therapy. Thalia utilizes a client-centered approach.

Some potential anxiety and mood related issues include: anxiousness, guilt and shame, sadness, automatic thoughts, distress intolerance, panic attacks, self consciousness, mindlessness, lack of motivation, impulsivity, feelings of worthlessness, feelings of helplessness, and passivity.
