Registered Psychologist

Because no one person is the same, I take an integrative, person-centered approach to counselling. Such an approach emphasizes the therapeutic relationship in driving change. It also allows us to adapt what we do in counselling to best meet your needs and goals. I draw on my ability to connect authentically, which involves bringing patience, warmth, a non-judgmental attitude, and when appropriate, some humour to my work.

In addition to the therapeutic relationship, I use a variety of different therapeutic approaches and evidence-based interventions.

Summary

Edmonton psychologists Dr. Janice Dicks and Dr. Holly Whyte are the founders of YEG Psychology. Dr. Dicks and Dr. Whyte met during the first year of their doctoral program in Counselling Psychology at the University of Alberta. They took almost all of the same classes and by the third year of the program, they became the best of friends. It was through sharing many similar personal and academic experiences that a foundation for not only a friendship but future colleagues emerged.
