Dr. Shannon provides assessment and treatment for adults and couples with a range of challenges including: depression, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, and stress. 

She also has a special interest in assisting clients with concerns related to trauma, eating, and body image.

She has received training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Gottman Couples Therapy.   She works collaboratively with clients to meet their goals and create lasting change in their lives.

Education

  • Dr. Amy Shannon received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from York University.
  • She completed her residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health where she focused on assisting individuals who were experiencing challenges with the sequela of psychological trauma as well as those who had difficulties with emotion management.
  • She has also completed training at the University Health Network where she focused on assisting individuals who had challenges with eating and body image.
  • In addition, she has published several scholarly works focused on perfectionism, eating, and body image.
