Scientific-sounding, evidence-based language is the dominant paradigm in psychotherapy. The effect of coming across as a serious profession has an unhelpful consequence: We have lost sight of what psychotherapy is. Psychotherapy is a Spiritual Endeavor. I call it the healing journey. It is a pilgrimage. I might be your first stop but not necessarily. All instances require a lot of courage and a lot of faith that something can truly change. Psychotherapy is about developing a special, singular, all-secure relationship with your therapist. One relationship to heal all others.
