Description

The optometry business is in Dr. Rea's blood. His great uncle, Herbert Armstrong, started the practice in 1912 and was joined by his uncle, Dr. Ross Armstrong, and then his father, Dr. Edward Rea, making it a natural fit for Dr. Rea to join the family practice. Vancouver born and bred, Dr. Rea attended Magee High School, and this is when he started working at the office optical lab during the summers. He continued this all through his university years as well. Dr. Rea did his undergraduate degree in cellular biology at UBC for four years before leaving for Chicago in 1983.

Founded in Alberta in 2008 by a group of independent optometrists, FYidoctors has grown to be Canada's largest doctor-owned and professionally managed eye care provider with over 270 locations nationwide.
