Dr. Michael Greenaway, fourth generation born and raised in Nanaimo, attended North Cedar Elementary and Cedar Junior Secondary before completing high school at John Barsby. After high school, Dr. Greenaway was invited to Francis Marion University in South Carolina on a four year soccer scholarship. After finishing a degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Psychology, Dr. Greenaway then moved to Philadelphia to attend the Pennsylvaina College of Optometry.

Founded in Alberta in 2008 by a group of independent optometrists, FYidoctors has grown to be Canada's largest doctor-owned and professionally managed eye care provider with over 270 locations nationwide.
