Description 

Dr. Derek Bouma began his post-secondary studies at the University of Alberta and graduated from Griffith University, in the Gold Coast of Australia.

While completing his Graduate Diploma of Dentistry, he worked with the Royal Flying Doctors Service with New South Wales Health, which provided fly-in, fly-out dental services to very remote areas of New South Wales.

Dr. Bouma also worked with Queensland Health and volunteered his dental services to Aboriginal communities through Hope4Health. Living in Australia allowed him the opportunity to learn to surf and sparked his passion for travel.
