Description
My area of practice is centred around treating trauma. As a trauma survivor, I recognize how important it is to provide a safe environment for a client to learn the skills they have lost or never gained in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness, and the reduction of shame and anxiety. My focus is not on processing past memories, but rather on being able to live effectively in the present. I was honoured for my work in expanding mental health services on Vancouver Island with the 2024 Community Award from the BC Achievement Foundation.
